Visa Requirements
It is a Condition of Carriage, and your personal responsibility, to ensure that you are in posession of the correct type of visa for the intended voyage.
Failure to do so, may result in not being allowed to board the vessel at your port of embarkation or payment of heavy fines on arrival to your destination country.
Visa requirements will vary depending on the nationality of the passport holder. Visa requirements may also change at short notice so you must check with the appropriate embassy on their latest visa requirements for entering the country as passenger on a cargo ship.
Cargo Ship Voyages is unable to offer advice on visas, but can recommend a specialist visa agent who is better able to assist in this specialised area.
It is the passenger’s sole responsibility to apply for and hold the correct visas before the commencement of the voyage.
Worldwide travel insurance with repatriation cover and emergency assistance is mandatory.
Vaccinations
As a guide, yellow fever and cholera vaccinations are compulsory for any voyage involving a port of call or transit through tropical areas.
Once services resume for passengers it is also likely to be madatory to be fully vaccinated against Covid, and to undertake testing prior to boarding and during the voyage.
Depending on your voyage your local Doctor on Health Centre will be able to give you guidance on the vaccinations required.
