A new regular transatlantic route!
The transatlantic route operated is a first-of-its-kind, offering new capacities in terms of freight (rolling and non-standard freights) passenger carriage and destination.
Origin is a “ro-ro” (roll on – roll off) sailing cargo ship using the wind as main propulsion as well as auxiliary diesel-electric propulsion. Equipped with two Solidsail rigs (designed by Chantiers de l’Atlantique) and anti-drift plans (designed by Fouré Lagadec), Origin is made to be propelled mainly by the wind, while respecting its sailing times. This equipment can be folded down to access most ports.
Thanks to its optimized design, and operating on this North Atlantic line, it aims to save over 80% of fuel compared to an equivalent conventional ship operating at 15kts.
Currently under construction at the RMK Marine shipyard in Tuzla (Turkey), it is scheduled to enter in service early summer 2025, it will then operate its first rotations.
To accompany your freight or simply cross the Atlantic with the least possible impact on the environment, come aboard the large commercial sailing yacht Origin!
Propelled by the clean, renewable energy of the wind in the 3000m2 of sails between St-Nazaire and St-Pierre & Miquelon, Baltimore and Halifax, you’ll enjoy a unique maritime experience in the comfort of one of the 6 27m² double cabins with private balcony.
On board, enjoy large common areas (77m² passenger lounge and sun deck), modern facilities (gym, wifi connection…) and privileged contact with the crew (meals in the officer’s wardroom).
Spacious and comfortable cabins: 27 m² passenger cabins, designed to accommodate up to two people in an elegant and relaxing setting.
Each cabin has:
A convivial lounge area to relax
A comfortable sleeping area, equipped with a double bed or twin beds, depending on your preferences
A private balcony, offering direct access to the railing and a breathtaking view of the sea
For your comfort, our cabins are also equipped with private bathrooms, a television, a refrigerator and an Internet connection.
Upon arrival, your bed will already be prepared, and towels will be provided.
Collective spaces for relaxation and sharing
On board, enjoy four communal areas designed for the comfort and conviviality of passengers and crew:
The dining room (about 75 m²): Three hot meals are served each day and included in your stay. Share these gourmet moments with the crew in a warm and authentic atmosphere.
The Passenger Lounge (approx. 75 m²): An elegant and welcoming space, ideal for relaxing, chatting or simply enjoying a coffee at your disposal.
The terrace – Sun Deck: An outdoor space offering a breathtaking view of the horizon.
The gym (approx. 37 m²): Equipped with fitness machines and accessories, it keeps you active throughout your trip.
Spaces designed for your well-being and pleasure throughout the crossing!
Passengers can interact with the crew and learn more about how the ship works. Navigation, on-board management, preparation for stopovers: crew members can share their know-how and experiences.
With the captain's approval, you may be able to visit the engine room, discover the navigation equipment or observe some daily manoeuvres, making your crossing even more rewarding.
